Building 1 — finishing touches, from the ground up

Building 1 is deep in its final chapter, and the tiling work that's been underway for weeks is now spreading to every surface that matters. The verandahs — those open, breezy spaces where guests will spend a great deal of their time — are being tiled out, and the stairs are following right behind. There is something meditative about watching a tiling crew work: one piece at a time, each one set with precision, until suddenly a floor becomes something you want to photograph.

This is the stage of a build where patience pays off most visibly. The big structural decisions were made months ago; what's happening now is the accumulation of hundreds of smaller ones — grout lines, material choices, finishes — each one nudging the overall experience of the space toward what we imagined it could be.

WHAT'S COMING NEXT FOR BUILDING 1

With tiling progressing across verandahs, bathrooms, and stairs, the final interior installations — fixtures, furniture, and fittings — are not far behind. Building 1's first guests are closer than ever.

Building 2 — rising fast, floor two on the horizon

If Building 1 is in its final sprint, Building 2 is in full stride. The pace of construction here has been genuinely impressive. Since our last update, the entire first floor has taken shape: the outer walls are up, the interior room-divider walls have been erected, and the bathroom walls are in the process of being finished. In just a matter of weeks, what was a freshly poured foundation has become a building with rooms you can walk into and imagine.

The next major milestone for Building 2 is the casting of the second-floor slab — a pour that will create the ceiling of the first floor and the foundation for everything above it. Once that concrete is set and cured, second-floor construction begins in earnest. We expect that transition to happen very soon.

WHAT'S COMING NEXT FOR BUILDING 2

The second-floor slab will be cast shortly, unlocking the full second phase of construction — framing, walls, and eventually the same finishing process now underway in Building 1.
